Called an Election Day asteroid, 2018VP1 has been known to planetary scientists since 2018, and NASA has recently reduced the risk to our planet.
The day before the U.S. presidential election, an asteroid orbiting the planet said prominent astrophysicist Neil Degrees Tyson left the social media platform on Sunday.

“Asteroid 2018VP1, a refrigerator-sized space rock, will hurt us at more than 25,000 mph / hour. On Nov. 2, the day before the presidential election, it could shake the earth,” Tyson said in a tweet on Said magazine.
However, the famous author stopped expressing the alarm, “but it’s not too big to hurt. If the world ends in 2020, it’s not the fault of the universe.”
The asteroid, called 2018VP1, has been known to planetary scientists since 2018, and NASA reduced the risk to our planet in August this year.
Asteroid 2018VP1 is very small, approx. 6.5 feet and there is no danger to the ground! Currently, the Earth has a 0.41% chance of entering the atmosphere, but if it does, it will disintegrate due to its very small size, “the space agency said.
2018VP1, What is an ‘election day asteroid’?
The asteroid 2018VP was first discovered two years ago at the Palomar Observatory in San Diego County, California. A 13-day observation arc was followed, after which no further asteroid was detected.
When it was discovered, the asteroid — which has been in orbit for two years — was, according to scientific warnings, about 28,000 miles from Earth. This year, however, the asteroid could be closer to 4,700 miles, according to NASA’s approach database.

NASA has said that 0.61 percent in 2001, or one that 2001 is VP1, will affect the planet. Although the asteroid enters the atmosphere of our planet, no damage is likely to occur on November 2nd.
